Salim Azzam Goes to India

Last week we were so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent Lebanon, building bridges across cultures. I felt immense pride showcasing the artistry of the women of my region in a country so deeply rich in craftsmanship. Thank you Fashion Trust Arabia, Tania Fares, and your excellency Skeihka Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani for this incredible opportunity and your unwavering support since day one.

This collection was created during times of war, shot in Paris, and has now made its debut in India at Lakmé Fashion Week. Bringing it to life in a country with such a deep heritage of artistry felt incredibly meaningful. India, with its centuries-old textile traditions, felt like the perfect place to share this work.

Such a journey is never taken alone. Backstage, thoughts turned to the dedicated team that made this possible. Lynn Adib’s voice filled the runway, adding an emotional depth to the presentation. Kris Volkanovski our stylist played an essential role in shaping the vision, bringing each detail to life. A special thank you to the FTA team—Dana, Marta, and Sandra—sharing this journey with you made it an unforgettable experience. To the amazing team behind Lakmé Fashion Week and all the models, thank you for your dedication and incredible hospitality.

And to Elie Fahed—a friend and constant companion on this journey—these moments will always be remembered. With this milestone reached, there is excitement for what comes next.

The show was a powerful reminder that creativity has no borders. As a child from Mount Lebanon, this was beyond anything I could have ever dreamed. Yesterday was a celebration of a journey that will always have its roots in the heart of Lebanon, sharing its story with the world.

Thank you, India!
